Maybelle Scenery

I've been working on the scenery around the old Maybelle Bulk Transfer plant on South main Street in Lexington. I know they do some work with HFCS which is affiliated with Corn Products in Winston Salem. HFCS stands for High Fructose Corn Syrup, used in colas and other products as sweeteners.

Thanks. I appreciate the comments. I was a bit surprised myself when I went back and compared the actual pic to the model.

I love the tank weathering. How did you do it?

Where did you find the tanker truck? What brand is it?

The tanks were made from 4" dia PVC pipe with a .060" styrene sheet for the top. They were spray painted silver and used a commercial furniture stain for the stains. You could probably get the same effect with India ink. Dip a paint brush in and touch to the top and let it run down. At least that's what I remember. It's been 3 years ago since I made them.

The tanker truck??? Will have to try and find them somewhere. All I remember is that it was 4 tricks in a pack.

Looks like the tanker truck was Herpa Models, from the 4-set
